2026 – 2027 Interprofessional Health, Arts & Humanities Certificate Program

No previous experience or knowledge in Arts and Humanities required.

The IPE Curriculum Portfolio at the Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE), University of Toronto, is delighted to announce that students are now able to apply for the Interprofessional Heath, Arts & Humanities Certificate Program. Students wishing to engage in more specialized collaborative learning opportunities may apply to complete this certificate program.

This certificate program will provide students with deeper learning and experiences that will support enhanced patient/client care and leadership skills.

It is highly recommended that students review the program criteria of the Interprofessional HAH Certificate Program in order to fully understand of the commitment and requirements to the program.

Acceptance Criteria

  1. Students from all years of their professional program may apply.
  2. The applicant must fully complete the application form within the given deadlines.
  3. A short reflection must be provided explaining why and how it is anticipated that the certificate program will enhance the applicant’s interprofessional experiences. Critical and reflective language, interest and interprofessional context as it relates to the certificate program will be considered in the selection process. 
  4. The selection committee will ensure an interprofessional mix of students are selected to ensure interprofessional perspectives are brought to the certificate program.

Once accepted to the program and registered, participants are expected to attend all requisite sessions. All Sessions will be In Person. 

    • Orientation - Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026 - 5:30pm-7:30pm- in person
    • 4 sessions on Narrative-Based Healthcare - 5:30pm-7:30pm- all sessions are in person

        • Tuesday, October 20, 2026
        • Tuesday, November 3, 2026
        • Tuesday, November 17, 2026
    • 4 sessions on The Performance of Healthcare: How Creative Play Can Enhance Collaboration, Develop Embodied Presence, and Encourage Supportive Practice - 5:30pm-7:30pm- all sessions are in person
        • Tuesday, January 12, 2027- 5:30pm-7:45pm- additional 15 minutes to orient you to the final project
        • Tuesday, January 19, 2027
        • Tuesday, January 26, 2027
        • Tuesday, February 2, 2027
    • 3 approved electives
    • Studio Time for Collaborating on Final Project/Presentation: in person
        • Tuesday, February 23, 2027
        • Tuesday, March 16, 2027
    • Final presentation/project- in person
      • Tuesday, March 30, 2027

Please check all dates before applying to ensure you are able to attend all sessions.

Upon completion of all requirements, students will receive:

  1. A Certificate of Completion for the Interprofessional Health, Arts and Humanities Program.
  2. Two IPE Elective Recognitions at the Immersion Level.
